Cyclone Ditwah has devastated our village. 431 homes submerged. 1,300+ lives upended. We need your help to rebuild homes, restore livelihoods, and get our children back to school.
On November 27-29, 2025, Cyclone Ditwah triggered unprecedented heavy rainfall in the Kegalle District. The Gurugoda Oya, a major tributary of the Kelani River, burst its banks with terrifying speed.
The flash floods devastated the Kannattota Grama Niladhari Division. Families had minimal time to react. In a matter of hours, 431 houses were completely submerged, destroying furniture, documents, and lifelong savings.
Witness the extent of the flood.
